The Bridge

Jesus for a new generation

The Bridge is an intentional effort led by Saint Trinity to come along side and connect the next generations of new American and local young people with other followers of Jesus.  In doing so, we will assist young people to thrive in an American culture filled with challenges and opportunities. we trust the Holy Spirit will lead these young people to faith and maturity in him.

The plan is simple.  Create Opportunities for . . .

  •        Having Fun
  •        Building Relationships
  •        Pointing to Christ
  •        Immersing in God’s Word
  •        Making Disciples
  •        Maturing in Faith

building a Team

volunteer and compensated staff

You are invited to be a part of something which will change both your life and the lives of young people.  Working with kids new to American and with others from challenging environments is not always easy, but it provides great rewards.  At Saint Trinity, we are assembling a team of people, to join us in being the light, life and hope of Jesus to a new generation of young people.   We would ask you to prayerfully consider being a part of the team that will make The Bridge a reality.

Opportunities to Serve

Volunteer or compensated reward:

All loved and appreciated

Basic Expectations of all Positions

  •          Committed and maturing follower of Jesus.
  •          Have a heart for kids and be willing to develop relationships with them.
  •          Act and serve with integrity.
  •          Participate in a training and equipping session to prepare for building bridges.
  •          Complete and pass a standard background check and agree to the Saint Trinity Child Safety Policy.
  • homework help partners

After school on Monday and Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:00 PM.  Helping with elementary school homework and reading.  Don’t worry you can do the math!  This position requires your presence and engagement with kids.  Commitment of 2-4 hours per week. This is a volunteer position.

  • bridge buiders

Are people high school and college aged and up who are willing to “build bridges” to young people by serving in ways most comfortable to them.  Playing basketball or soccer, helping with art, reading a book, playing drum or a guitar, leading a devotion and mostly just being present.  The primary gathering right now is on Friday evening from 4:45 – 7:00 PM.  Commitment time of 2-5 hours per week.  These are volunteer positions.

  • youth mentors

Are people college aged and older who take “bridge building” to the next level.  Working as a team, they will be present for Homework Help and Social Activities and will be responsible for the discipleship and faith activities with young people.  Mentors will be equipped to help young people move from social activities and homework help to a deeper and more significant connection to Christ and his Church.  Think “youth group” sponsors with the significant responsibility of helping young people grow as disciples.  We are estimating a commitment of 5-10 hours/week and compensation is included.  Applicants for these positions should receive joy in serving with young people.  We are seeking mature disciples of Jesus who have flexibility in their schedules.

  • transportation

Perhaps one of the biggest challenges for ministry with young people (particularly in the city) is transportation.  Many families have only one car, if any.  New Americans typically work jobs at all hours of the day and night.  We are praying for a transportation solution: many volunteers or a safe van or a professional driver.  Are you able to help or do you have an idea?  These positions may be compensated.

  • support team

Working with kids means preparing food, gathering supplies, registration, communicating with families etc.  If you are a “behind the scenes” kind of servant.  We need you.  Contact us for more information.

  • story telling  (Communications, P.R., Photo and video)

We have a story to tell and it is important to tell it well.  If this is your “sweet spot” we would love your help in telling the story of what God is doing at Saint Trinity.
